Lenovo Acquires Motorola

It’s shocking! It’s real! Lenovo has taken over Motorola from Google. With this step, Lenovo has also acquired the third place in the list of makers of smartphones. Additionally, now, the company possesses Motorola's portfolio of innovative smartphones like Moto X, Moto G, Moto E and the DROID series, as well as the future Motorola product roadmap.

But do not worry about the brand! Lenovo does NOT plan to wipe-out Motorola’s identity. Instead, Motorola will remain as a wholly-owned subsidiary.

Talking about it, Chairman and CEO, Lenovo, Yang Yuanqing said, “Today we achieved a historic milestone for Lenovo and for Motorola – and together we are ready to compete, grow and win in the global smartphone market. By building a strong number three and a credible challenger to the top two in smartphones, we will give the market something it has needed: choice, competition and a new spark of innovation.”

If you are a Moto fan, you will still get outstanding smartphones and technologies from the company.

UFO - Unidentified Flying CAMERA!

We are amazed to see those fancy gadgets Batman or James Bond possess. But some of them are becoming a reality. Participating in the Intel’s Make it Wearable contest, a group of enthusiasts have created wearable, flyable camera prototype named Nixie.

The gadget is worn on the wrist. It unstraps itself off from the wrist when you want to take a picture, takes flight into the air, takes your picture and straps back to your wrist, all on its own! Truly mind-boggling, isn't it?

Don't believe us, take a look at its video yourself.

Smart Phone or Smart Drug!

There is no doubt that we spend more time on our smart phones than we spend on any other devices. In fact, many of us check weather updates and e-mail notifications even before getting out of the bed in the morning (alarms, we’ll blindly snooze but we can’t bear even one minute checking Whatsapp pings). Conducting a detailed survey about such habits, Tecmark, a marketing agency, has revealed few interesting facts.

According to the report, users undertake, on an average, 221 tasks every day on their smart phones as compared to 140 tasks on a desktop or laptop. Furthermore, study reveals that smart phone users spend almost 3 hours 16 minutes of their time on phone performing different tasks.

No doubt, we are addicted to smart phones.

Although, you may not see some elements such as heavier images, maps, etc. unless they are absolutely necessary but without losing the quality of the search results. Isn’t it a great way to increase your surfing and page opening speed, all the while using lower consumption and saving costs!

Windows Open for Windows 10

Microsoft has finally revealed the next version of its operating system – Windows 10. Yes, awkwardly enough, the company has skipped a number.

The highlight of this new operating system is going to be the return of the ‘start button’ (which is a relief for 'start button fans' like us). Besides, Microsoft confirms that the upcoming version will adapt to their various devices including Xbox, desktops, phones, tablets etc.

Other promising features of the Windows 10 include:
Snap enhancement:
It will allow working with multiple apps easily. The new layout named quadrant will allow up to four apps to be snapped on the same screen.

Task View Button:
Windows 10 will also have a Task View Button on the task bar. This will enable quick viewing and switching between all running apps and files with ease.

Multiple Desktops:
On the other hand, the provision of Multiple Desktops will help us draw a clear line between two projects or official and personal work. This feature will create and enable switching between two distinct desktops for different purposes.

But it will be waiting game, as Windows 10 won't be out soon. It is expected to open up in late 2015. So, let wait to see what’s more Microsoft has in the ‘store’ for us.
